A Nod To

Ross’s Vision

Built on what was originally a dairy farm, Waynesville Inn and Golf Club opened in 1926 as the Waynesville Country Club. It was here that famed golf architect Donald Ross felt the old dairy farm as the perfect place to create his famous golf course, ‘The Carolina 9’.

A Look Back

For the next 90 years, the course and property provided a casual and relaxed atmosphere in the mountains of Western North Carolina and the course has hosted many PGA legends from Sam Snead, Chi-Chi Rodriquez, and Arnold Palmer. Today, this remains an ideal setting for a one-of-a-kind golf and hospitality destination.

Preserving Our Legacy

In partnership with Bobby Weed Golf Design, we are fully renovating the golf course while preserving the history of the original Donald Ross design. Weed, who has generational family ties to Waynesville that date back more than 100 years, as well as a deep professional footprint throughout the Carolinas, envisions a challenging but fair course with modern appeal and design that is exciting for both the everyday golfer and the low handicapper.
